The Fallout series, in every game, is known to still harbor an abundance of human life and civilization in the small pockets where it is allowed.

A vault 17 could still be involved, but the 'soldier' most definitely is with the NCR. Perhaps someone who defected from a vault. The soldier could very well not have been a soldier, perhaps a vagrant. The latter starts with a uplifting song, only to have the mood to be broken with the slow realization that all is not as it seems. The former opens with a VaulTec Survival video of sorts, and shows a happy family being ventilated by a machine gun. The Fallout trailers have a trend of having something positive, or uplifting, which then turns into something more severe. But, the lands between Sanctuary and DC are an information Black Hole. So, what is fitting and what isn't? If this was in the South-Western United states, or mid-eastern, I'd be right there with you. Examining the difference between West and East coasts shows how drastically different both sides can be. Much of the Fallout world, even in the United States, is unknown to us.I'm prancing around like a prepubescent girl who just met Taylor Lautner, or that other guy. You know, maybe this will be a good game but the trailer is very bad imo. Exploring a metropole (New York anyone?) might be fun but it has nothing to do with the Fallout universe. This trailer shows us a city that doesn't look damaged at all. All the cities were unique and they were scattered all across the Wasteland.

The whole place is a friggin wasteland and survivors are desperately looking for food and shelter and killing each other. Fallout 3 was so fun because of the whole post-apocalyptic setting. This guy looks like the main character in Dead Space. The Brotherhood of Steel soldier wearing power armor in the FO3 trailer was 1000x more awesome imo. The "soldier" at the end of the trailer looks soooo unfitting and totally NOT badass. But perhaps that's a good thing (if New Vegas is almost the same as Fallout 3 it might be a good game after all). The trailer is almost exactly the same as the Fallout 3 trailer. He just doesn't fit in the lore of the game and belongs in a Star Wars movie imo. The robot at the beginning looks dumb (Fallout takes place in a retro-futurist world). And I fear that this will happen again with Fallout: New Vegas! KotOR2 and NWN2 were both great games but they were nothing compared to their presuccessors. Neverwinter Nights 2 (+2 expansion packs) Games developed by Obsidian Entertainment: It's one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. Perhaps it's just me but I was really disappointed by that trailer.
